Create a QR for almost anything you want to share
A QR does not have to lead only to a web page. It can open a WhatsApp chat, connect someone to your Wi-Fi, prepare an email, save a contact or even add an event to a calendar. You choose what should happen after a scan and we build the code.
What can you put inside a QR?
More than it first seems. A link opens a website; WhatsApp opens a chat with a prepared message; Wi-Fi lets someone connect to a network; and a contact can be ready to save on a phone. You can also create codes for email, calls, SMS, events, locations or a simple block of text.
A couple of details matter. For WhatsApp and phone numbers, include the country code. For a location, use latitude between −90 and 90 and longitude between −180 and 180. We take care of the rest.
Download it... but test it first
PNG works very well for a website, presentation, social media or normal digital use. If you plan to print it or resize it a lot, SVG is usually better because it can grow without turning into giant squares.
Before sending 5,000 flyers to print... scan the QR. Seriously. Check that it opens exactly what you wanted, reads from a phone and has enough contrast between the code and its background. Ten seconds can save you a much bigger problem.
What is error correction?
A QR code can keep working even when a small part is damaged, dirty or not perfectly visible. Error correction decides how much it can tolerate. Higher correction adds more recovery information, although the pattern can become denser.
Which should you choose? For a normal QR, medium is usually a good starting point. If you will print it small, change its colors or put it somewhere it could deteriorate, increase correction and, above all, test it with your phone.
The QR is generated in your browser
Your data is processed directly in the browser to create the QR. You do not need an account, and the information does not have to travel to a server to generate the image.
Frequently asked questions
Can I create a Wi-Fi QR without a password?
Yes. Select Wi-Fi and choose “No password.” If the network is also hidden, check that option before generating the code.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is made of pixels and works perfectly for most digital uses. SVG is vector based, so you can make it much larger without losing sharpness. If you will print it, SVG usually gives you more flexibility.
Does the generator send my data to a server?
No. The QR is generated directly in your browser. Remember that once you share the code, anyone who can scan it can read the information inside. Do not put anything private there.
Why cannot my phone scan the code?
Start with the basics: good contrast, enough margin and a size that is easy to see. If you changed colors or plan to print it, test the real QR with a phone before sharing it. A pretty QR that does not scan is still a QR that does not work.
Can I change the code colors?
Yes. You can play with colors, but do not sacrifice contrast to make the QR prettier. The pattern should stand out clearly from the background. Scan it again after changing the colors.
